Selma native working for 49ers

Nigel McWilliams, a native of Selma, has been named by the San Francisco 49ers its social media producer.

"I'm so grateful to God for opening these doors," he said. "I hope to represent not just myself, but Selma, [the University of Alabama], and everyone in the best light as I embark on this new opportunity."

McWilliams has more than seven years of experience in the social media field. He has worked in creative sports media content, as well as editing and video content organizing.

He was part of the NFL IGTV Playmakers Program, which received and NCAA Conference grant, and the NFL/Collegiate Pro Bowl Video Competition where McWilliams won for the most retweets for the University of Alabama football program.

He has worked as a digital content creator for former Alabama basketball player Kira Lewis and for Selma Mayor James Perkins, Jr. He also worked with J&M Tank Lines as a digital media specialist and the University of Alabama football program as a production assistant.
