Frederick Thomas Vaughan, Sr. passed away May 29, 2021 at the age of 82.
Vaughan was retired after 20 years with the Selma Housing Authority and IBEW.
He was an avid Alabama fan, proud member of the “Jack’s Retired Breakfast Club” where many of his friends gathered daily and family man who was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren. He taught his children that without family, you have nothing. Vaughan also loved to work on, rebuild and sell old Ford tractors. He was the go-to person around town for Ford tractors.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Binion Vaughan; mother, Frances Elizabeth McClinton Vaughan and sister, Billie Frances Johnson.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Vaughan (Bruce) Longcrier, Fred Vaughan, Jr. (Vicky Stoudenmire) and Dana Vaughan (Danny) Mayo; grandchildren, Amanda Longcrier, Jason (Erin) Longcrier, Maygen Averette, Jordan V. (Noah) Mills, Chase Mayo and Raegan Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Kennadi Ballard, Trent Ballard and Cole Ballard.
Graveside service was June 3 at New Live Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Longcrier, Jason Longcrier, Danny Mayo, Chase Mayo, Trent Ballard and Cole Ballard.
