Welding Supply ribbon cutting

Owner Matilda Williams, center, cuts the ribbon with friends and family on the new Welding Supply Selma on Citizen's Parkway.

Welders won’t have to leave town to get their supplies now that Welding Supply Selma LLC opened on Citizens Parkway.

Owner Matilda Williams said she saw a need for a business to provide welding supplies in the Selma area. The store will be open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday mornings.

Anyone checking Williams’ welding credentials will be impressed. She is also owner of M & Z Welding & Repair and is the lead welding instructor for Wallace Community College Selma.

Williams said Welding Supply Selma will carry a variety of fire-resistant clothing that can be used in industries other than welding. The store carries welding jackets, welding gloves, safety glasses, welding gloves and helmets. She also sells welding machines and parts and supplies, but she said some items are on back order because of COVID-related supply chain issues.

Welding Supply Selma is located at 2803 Citizens Parkway, Suite D. Call 334-526-1747 or call the cell phone, 334-349-5618 for more information.

The store officially opened with a ribbon cutting on Oct. 1.
