Young people interact with SCORE volunteers at GWC service day.

Adults and teens from Denver in town for a service mission last week said they received as much as they gave on their visit to Selma.

The group represented SCORE International, a Christian organization that spans the globe seeking to spread the gospel and enrich their personal lives. Lauren Good, a 16-year-old high school student, expressed a feeling of increased enlightenment after interacting with citizens and visiting Selma’s historical sights and memorials.

“It’s been very heartwarming to meet and talk to people from here, very different from where I’m from,” Good said. “It has opened my eyes, and I think the other teens’ eyes. It really motivates me to be more involved.”
