Summer Art camp

Charlie "Tinman" Lucas works with children in the Summer Art Camp in 2018. The camp has been held for 25 years.

Space is still available for both sessions of Summer Art Camp being held this summer.

The 25th annual Art Camp is being held at Charlie “TinMan” Lucas' Studio at 9 Lauderdale Street on June 21-25 and July 19-23.

The fee for the week of Art Camp is $125 and includes lunch and more than eight art projects. Camp is for children 8 years and older. Due to limited space, enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. Payment of the camp fee secures a spot. Payments and enrollment forms may be delivered or mailed to TinMan's Studio at 9 Lauderdale Street or dropped in the mailbox near the door. Call

334-412-8550 for more information.

The camp was canceled last year due to COVID although they still sent out art boxes for work to be done at home. The camp previously took place at Dallas Avenue school downtown but a small fire in October 2017 caused the building to be closed. It now is housed at Lucas’ studio.

Art projects include acrylic finished ceramic piece item, wire art sculptures, macrame, watercolors and more.
