Selma’s Blaster Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is hosting its annual banquet on Aug. 6 at Y-Not Entertainment Center.

The event that was postponed last year due to COVID will start at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The event is at 2940 County Road 27.

Charlie Duckette, a member of the local NWTF chapter, said the banquets are the only means of fundraising for the NWTF.

“At these events, we have lots of turkey prints and paintings, sculptures, furniture and guns, lots of guns,” Duckette said. “We have items for a live auction and a silent auction. There’s also raffle packages.”

Duckette said the raffle packages have numerous items but are all anchored with a gun.

Tickets for the banquet are available from any NWTF committee member or by calling Jere Peak at 334-872-2303 or Jason Potvin at 251-423-5029. The price of the tickets includes a membership to the NWTF.
