Morgan Academy hosted Autauga Academy for senior baseball and softball night, Tuesday, April 6 where the school honor senior baseball and softball players and retired the number 12 jersey of former Morgan Academy standout softball star Kendall Veach.

The daughter of Donald and Deborah Veach, Kendall is a 2016 graduate of Morgan Academy. In addition to softball, she was a member of the Morgan Academy basketball and track team, was a state champion in the shot put and was a member of the Beta Club. She signed to play softball for Auburn University which finished second in the College World Series in 2016.

She was an SEC All-American for her four years at Auburn. She went on to play pro ball for the Beijing Eagles women’s professional softball team based in Daytona Beach, Fla. and coached by her brother Hunter Veach.

Veach is currently finishing her second semester in occupational therapy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she is a graduate assistant for the UAB Blazers Softball Team.

Also recognized were senior baseball players Osagie Aghedo and Chris Gardner and senior softball player Sarah Gresham Jones.

Jones, the daughter of Torrey and Tory Jones, plans to attend Auburn University at Montgomery in the fall.

Aghedo, the son of Osa and Sarah Aghedo, has signed to play baseball for Lawson State Community College.

And Gardner, the son of Jeff and Paulette Gardner, was an all-star football and basketball player for Morgan Academy. He has been named an AISA Student Athlete Award Winner.
