Gunnar Henderson, Class of 2019, wore No. 2 as a Morgan Senator and now plays with the Baltimore Orioles.

Morgan Academy head baseball coach Stephen Clements presented the jersey.

Henderson’s accolades include 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year, 2019 Mr. Baseball Alabama and first pick in the second round of the MLB draft going to the Baltimore Orioles.

“It is always an honor to be able to recognize our former athletes,” Clements said.  “Gunnar has always been the kid that worked harder than most and has earned every award that he has received.”

He said, “Not only is he (Henderson) a special talent, but he is an even better role model for our young athletes. His work ethic and attitude will never be topped. And I am super excited to see him excel in the MLB. Soon they as well will see his ability and his work ethic.”
