Edgewood Elementary School has received a $10,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield's (BCBS) Be Healthy School Grants program to be used to promote healthy lifestyles for students.

This recent grant was the second this year to be given to Edgewood by BCBS. In May Edgewood received a grant from BCBS to address childhood obesity.

The $10,000 grant was written by Greyson Reesor, who teaches physical education at the school.

The Be Healthy School Grants program is awarded to schools throughout Alabama to promote health and wellness activities. Click here for details on how to apply.
