A drive thru job fair hosted by Pinnacle Renewable Energy and West Alabama Works will be held on Feb. 25 at the Demopolis Civic Center.

“With the current state of the pandemic, we wanted to get creative with our recruiting efforts," said PRE HR Manager Hunter Winborne. "Everyone wants to stay safe, but we also understand the desire to speak face-to-face, especially regarding employment."

"We feel that this drive thru event provides a much-needed solution to that issue, so we encourage job seekers to come out and speak with us regarding a potential future with Pinnacle.”

The route starts at the intersection of Commissioners Avenue and Childers Street and runs through the civic center parking lot, ending at W Lyon Street. Coordinators will wear PPE at the event.

Participants are required to wear masks and will remain in their cars with windows partially open. Those who attend can be interviewed for jobs offering $15 to $30 per hour. Updated resumes should be brought.

“As we continue to think outside of box when it comes to reaching potential job seekers, this drive-thru job fair is just another way for us to be in the community," said Tammi Holley, Black Belt Workforce Center Coordinator."

"Finding a way to make meaningful connections and fuel sustainable employment in our region has always been important, but even more so now with the ongoing challenges associated with the pandemic.”

A Facebook page for the event can be seen here.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Demopolis City Civic Center located at 501 N Commissioners Avenue.
