Dallas County vaccination at Bloch Park

Dallas County health department gives vaccines at Bloch Park on Jan. 28. Another clinic finished Wednesday.

The COVID vaccine clinic at Bloch Park is ending on Wednesday after Vaughan Regional Medical Center and partners gave out all 5,000 doses in just three days.

Vaughan, Wallace Community College Selma, Dallas County Public Health Department, Americorp and others organized the drive-through clinic to give vaccinations from Monday through Friday at Bloch Park. But the strong turnout meant doses were used by Wednesday, according to Maegan Austin with Vaughan.

The Walmart in Selma will begin administering COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, Walmart and the Alabama Department of Public Health announced Tuesday.

The Selma Walmart pharmacy will be among more than 1,000 Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies in 22 states to administer COVID-19 vaccine through the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
