David Tipmore has always loved books and bookstores.
“I’ve lived a lot of places, and every place I’ve lived, they had a bookstore, and I missed that,” Tipmore said. “I thought there are bound to be people in Selma who feel the same way.” So he opened Broad Street Books, a used bookstore on Broad Street.
Tipmore said he looked for the perfect location. “I wanted to find a good location for tourism and easy access, and next to a parking lot.” That location is 22 Broad Street, across the parking lot from the Selma Welcome Center.
