After 16 years and eight months as Dallas County’s District Judge, Robert “Bob” Armstrong is hanging up his gavel and entering the world of retirement.

But that doesn’t mean he’s finished working to help make Selma and Dallas County a great place. According to him, he is just getting started.

Armstrong, who was born and raised in Selma, won the 2004 election to become District Judge, was sworn in in January 2005 and has been on the bench ever since. Before he was district judge, he practiced law and was a trust officer for People’s Bank.
