Cozy Dawgs

Rotary Co-President Jerria Martin takes a turn making a cozy dog during the weekly meeting held Monday at Tally Ho so members could learn how to make the famous fair food.

Cozy Dawgs have been a staple at the Lion’s Club’s Central Alabama Fair for more than 60 years.

Starting this summer, there will be a new crew making them. The Selma Civitan Club has handed the handmade corndog baton to the Selma Rotary Club that will make and sell the fair food at this year’s fair set for July 21-25.

Rotary Club members learned to make Cozy Dawgs on Monday at Tally Ho, using Civitan’s recipe and lessons passed down from longtime Civitan manager of the dogs, Bill Tripp.
