Selma City Schools Superintendent Avis Williams and Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. held a press conference on Monday at Selma High School to outline plans to improve safety after a shooting in the cafeteria last week.

Before the press conference, city leaders from various backgrounds met in the high school's library to discuss safety issues and form a committee.
