Troy University, in partnership with the City of Troy, will host a free online leadership event on Feb. 5 with keynote speakers.

Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson will deliver keynote remarks along with Troy Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Troy Mayor Jason Reeves, Troy Phenix City Vice Chancellor Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims and City of Troy Director of Public Relations Shelia Jackson.

The event is titled “Celebrating Leadership and Legacy: A Transition to the Congressman John R. Lewis Leadership Conference,” and will take the place of the usual in-person Leadership Conference Celebrating African American History Month because of the COVID situation. 

Wilson is president of Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, LLC, which is a leadership and business consulting company. She has an extensive background as a trainer and speaker working with Fortune 500 businesses. 

She is the 29th international president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is a member of the NAACP and the National Council of Negro Women, as well as a mother of two.
